Magdy Hanna, Ph.D.

Program Chair

Dr. Hanna is a recognized educator, speaker and consultant in several areas of software engineering. His distinguished seminars on various topics have been highly rated by software professionals. His experience with software goes back to the mid 1970's, when he worked as a developer at the NCR Center and the American University in Cairo , Egypt . Over the last thirty-five years, Dr. Hanna has worked in all aspects and capacities of software projects and processes. He has trained over 50,000 professionals around the world over the last 20 years. His passion and enthusiasm for testing, process improvement, and software engineering are contagious.

Dr. Hanna also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Software Test Professionals, a publication of the International Institute for Software Testing, now the Bug Free Zone (www.iist.org/bugfreezone.php). As a professor of Software Engineering at the University of St. Thomas , he taught graduate courses on several software engineering topics with emphasis on practical software quality techniques. Dr. Hanna consults with companies to define and improve their software processes using disciplined software engineering approaches.

Dr. Hanna developed new approaches and methods in software engineering including the Scenario-Based Development and Testing (SBDT), Requirement-Based Project Management (RBPM), Software Quality Engineering Methodology (SQEngineer), the Unified Data Model (UDM), and the Data-Driven Object Model ( DOM ).

Dr. Hanna holds a Ph.D. and a Masters Degree in Computer and Information Sciences form the University of Minnesota , also a Masters in Operations Research from Cairo University , and B. Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Suez Canal University, Egypt.

Aiman Abdelmalik, Ph.D.

Dr. Aiman Abdel-Malek brings over 25 years of experience as a senior executive leading healthcare business teams to develop innovative customer-centric business solutions. Dr. Abdel-Malek is currently the Executive Chairman, Advisory Board, Thirdwayv Inc., the leading company in secure connected healthcare solutions headquartered in Irvine California. Previously, he served as a Public company Officer & Executive Vice President at Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ: Podd) until his retirement in April 2019. Prior to assuming this role, he was Insulet's Senior Vice President, Advanced Technology and Engineering. Under his leadership, Insulet launched the first FDA cleared smartphone controlled tubeless Insulin patch pump in the world- the Omnipod DASH platform-based connected diabetes management products. Prior to joining Insulet, Aiman served as President of Frictionless Life Analytics, Inc., a business development company which enables the growth of start-up ventures focused on secure Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) solutions. From 2012 to 2015, he served as Vice President of Engineering at Qualcomm Life, Inc., a mobile healthcare solutions Qualcomm subsidiary. From 1988 to 2012, he held various executive roles at General Electric, including General Manager - Global Services Technology at GE Healthcare where he launched the first GE predictive services offerings.

Aiman holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. He is an expert consultant to various Financial Investment Firms in digital Diabetes management market. Aiman serves as a Board Advisor to Biolinq, Inc (San Diego, CA), CuePath Innovation (British Columbia, Canada), and Cigniti Corporation(symbol: Cigniti.BO). He is the Chairperson for the Industry Advisory Board of the University of Pennsylvania PRECISE Center for Safe AI. Aiman has over 30 patents and publications and is a frequent keynote speaker at various digital healthcare, secure IoT, and mobile digital healthcare forums.

Philip Lew, Ph.D.

Philip Lew is the CEO at XBOSoft, directing strategy for the software quality and testing services firm. With over two decades of experience spanning engineering, product management, and executive leadership, Philip leverages both technical expertise and business acumen to help clients tackle the ever-increasing challenge of implementing complex software across expanding platforms.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Beihang University, with a research focus on software quality and usability. Philip has authored numerous publications in IEEE, ACM, and trade journals, cementing his standing as an industry thought leader. He is also the President of the Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference, a non-profit organization holding an annual conference each October, now in its 42nd year, dedicated to knowledge exchange in all facets of software quality.

As an internationally sought-after keynote speaker, Philip regularly presents at top software conferences on today’s pressing software engineering challenges. His talks equip audiences with practical, applicable advice on issues from Agile testing to user experience optimization to process improvement.

When he’s not speaking, Philip satisfies his zeal for exploration as an avid world traveler. He brings this passion for learning to his work and presentations, always seeking fresh perspectives to combine intellectual insight with humor, current events, and multiple viewpoints.

Trevor Chandler

Trevor Chandler is a futurist with great expertise and a proven record of accomplishment in turning ideas and theories into working solutions. With 100s of successful projects across eighty companies, over forty completed government contracts valued at over 5 billion USD, multiple patents across artificial intelligence, virus-fighting technologies, and other automation-based inventions, multiple security clearances, and a variety of other successful ventures, he has the experience and skills to continually solve problems in ways others may not think possible. In addition to technology, he has started multiple companies, building them up and leading them to acquisition with the most recent exiting through an intellectual property acquisition for artificial intelligence he created for the power and telco industry leading to a 13.5-million-dollar acquisition. With multiple patents to his name, he has a deep understanding of which approaches are unique and what already exists. With this understanding and his ability to solve problems in new ways, he has set his focus on using his new self-improving, non-human-biased, artificial intelligence, combined with proven techniques and science to create a new system to research, design, test, and document treatments and cures for cellular-based diseases and conditions.

Laurence Giglio

Laurence Giglio is a passionate software quality assurance engineer with 20 years experience and has a keen interest in the potential of AI to make a positive impact on the world.

Laurence has worked as a software test engineer, release manager, scrum master, technical writer, and with his knowledge and experience in testing, has managed software testing at startups, small companies and corporations.

Laurence is also a volunteer for virufy.org and a reviewer for a publisher of technology books, projects and videos.

He holds a B.Sc in mathematics (University of Adelaide) and a Grad. Dip. in Computer Systems Analysis (University of South Australia), a member of IEEE, ACM and AMS and continuous learner in software engineering, AI and management science.
